As an independent writer, the support of others is vital. Thankfully, I’m part of an extraordinary community that sees value in the sharing of opinions. I’m especially lucky to have visitors like you – reading, commenting, and providing essential feedback.
If you enjoy my writing and Turkey fanaticism, please consider the following ways to support my work. Every effort counts and I sincerely thank you for your time.
When you subscribe to this blog you’ll receive an email notification each time I publish a new post; more importantly, you’ll put a huge smile on my face.
2. Follow Me on Social Media
Did you know I’m on Instagram and Twitter? While I can’t promise my content is always meaningful, it’s free from finger-pointing and politics (ugh!). There is, however, plenty of sexy bottle pics and flippant commentary to be found (yay!). Oh, and I like to give Fred Minnick a hard time. (Love ya, Fred!)
3. Check out My Book
In 2020, American Spirit: Wild Turkey Bourbon from Ripy to Russell was published. Part history, part appreciation, American Spirit tells the true, spin-free story of Wild Turkey bourbon. From its origins as a grocery wholesaler’s house label, to a worldwide whiskey success, each page sheds light on a brand that’s frequently (and stereotypically) under-appreciated. Bonus points: After you read it, write a review for Amazon, Apple, or Goodreads. Honest reviews help authors more than readers often realize.
4. Browse My Online Store
There’s plenty of unique Turkey-themed shirts, mugs, stickers, etc. to be found at my Rare Bird 101 online store. Give it a look! You might just find something you love.
5. Become a Patron
I’m not certain I could maintain this blog without the support of my generous patrons. At least, it wouldn’t be ad free. (And who wants ads? Yuck.) But my Patreon community is so much more than that. There’s exclusive reviews, polls, videos, livestreams, etc. And that’s only the beginning! Depending on one’s pledge tier, there’s rewards like custom cards, glasses, tasting journals, flight boards, etc. Suffice it to say you won’t be disappointed. Hell, give it a try at the base level and if you don’t enjoy your experience I’ll refund your first month no questions asked. That’s a promise.
Thanks again to everyone in this wonderful whiskey community. Your genuine interest, help, and daily involvement means everything to me. I truly appreciate it. dj
